Growth Technology – Buffer 4 & 7 – PH Buffer Calibration
Growth Technology PH buffer 4 and 7 solutions are of a known and fixed PH, which are used to calibrate your PH meter and should be done on a regular basis to ensure ongoing accuracy from the meter. Pour out a small amount to use for calibration and remember to discard the used solution when finished, do not pour it back into the container as it will contaminate your new solution.
First use PH buffer 7 solution to calibrate your meter to neutral, once this is done we recommend you then use PH buffer 4 to calibrate your meter to this level, this will give you a two point calibration and be far more reliable than just calibrating to one.
The two main effects the pH level has on plant growth is related to the availability of plant nutrients or the soil concentration of plant-toxic minerals. Within highly acid soils, micro-nutrients such as aluminium and manganese can become more available and therefore more toxic to the plant. Equally affecting growth when there are low pH values, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium are less available to the plant.

Agressive Liquid
Growth technology Buffer solution is classed as an aggressive liquid which can damage the skin and clothing and can cause burns. This group of products includes, but is not limited to: pH up, pH down, liquid oxygen and other products containing liquid forms of silica/silicon.
Always add straight to your reservoir water and mix well straight away. Do not mix aggressive substances with any other product while in concentrated form. While using, always wear protective clothing such as goggles, gloves etc.
